Power Steering Leak/Lucas Leak Stopper
I have a new leak in my PS and I find myself adding PSF every week or so. I have hear about Lucas stop leak but I hear it will destroy my entire PS system and clog hoses that need no clogging, to get around this I'm told I should mix PSF with Lucas Leak stopper. Before I attempt anything. Has anyone ever used Lucas leak stopper ON A HONDA ACCORD OR HONDA CAR with a similar built (Civic) If so How did you use it and how long ago? and what happened? I have a 93 Accord 10th ann. 130K

I've personally (my son) used Lucas (pn 10008) stop leak in an 89 Accord. He only used it to slow down the leak until the car could come home and we replaced the front seal in the pump, it never stopped it. That was @ 6 months ago and after replacing the seal we just left it in. Your situation could be different. I e-mailed with Lucas before letting him buy/add it. I've seen what happens to the ps system on a honda when the wrong fluid (trans fluid or "reg" ps fluid) is used....busted seals and the likes.
I figured that I would mention that. Using Lucas stop leak could only be a band-aid and may screw up the PS system. I have never used it.
The leak could be something simple repair like a seal, or more expensive like the rack or the PS pump. My point was that it will probably be easier and less expensive to find then fix the leak instead of masking it and possibly damaging otherwise good components.

ALL types of stop-leak fluids work by making rubber parts swell up. If the leak is caused by shrinkage of a rubber seal, then it can work.
If the leak is caused by a rubber O-ring being actually torn or twisted out-of-place, then it won't work. Imagine the rubber part swelled up but still torn or twisted - still leaking.
I had a PS leak (non-Honda) from the little pinion shaft for the steering column being corroded & pitted - not smooth any more. The leak-stop stuff didn't work for that because it didn't make the metal part smooth.
