Default Quick Air Filter Question?

How Many Air Filters does a car need/have? Because i have a Performance one like a red round filter and a yellow flat square that is non performance. Do i need just one or is it bad for my car to have two of them on at the same time? thanks!

Welcome new member!

I don't see how you can have both installed together. Besides, what car are we talking about? A 72 Pinto??

My guess is the square one is the stock filter, which goes in the stock filter housing. An aftermarket intake usually takes the round filter, but it also requires you remove the stock air intake & filter housing.

If your Accord is 1998 or newer, there is also an air filter in the cabin ventilation duct.

You can get rid of the round red 'Hot Rod' breather filter.
Here's what the original stock configuration looked like;
