Quick question about rear-view camera installation
I have a 06 Accord EXL w/ Nav
So I bought this 2013 Version EskyŽ EC170 08 Waterproof Vehicle Car Rear View Backup Camera HD | eBay
and I looked at alot of the DIY threads regarding this, and my question is,
A. am I looking in the right place for the green wire? Is it #1 #2 or #3?
I thought #1 and #3 are essentially the same wires... and #1 didnt have the green wire when I checked.
B. Can I use any of the black wires to splice into for the ground?
Thanks

The back-up light wire (green) is at #2 (the 3P gray connector) in your picture. It is not at #1 or #3.
The back-up light wire is also at the auto dimmer mirror, a couple of connectors under the driver's side dash, navigation unit (middle of rear shelf), and a junction connector behind the left C-pillar (4-door).

At which spot do you recommend I make the splice with the butt connector?
Thanks again

I looked more at the circuit diagram and wire routing. The back-up light wire (reverse), is at both #2 and #3 of your pictures.
For the installation, I would splice the green wire somewhere along #3. At #3, you find two green wires (one for the left back-up light and one for the right back-up light); either one of them will work. (See the attached diagram of the rear wire harness routing; I highlighted in orange, part of the routing for the back-up light wire. I did not highlight the wiring going to the navigation unit on the middle rear shelf.)
Although the green wire has some silver/gray dots, Honda still considers it a green wire. Honda adds dots to solid color wires when they may be using another similar solid color wire (without dots) that is used for a different circuit. A green/gray wire would be a wire with green insulation and a gray stripe. The back-up light wire is considered "green".
You can't just use a butt connector, as you will have to splice into the green wire. Soldering would be best; but, something like 3M Scotchlock wire tap will work and it is fast and easy.
