Default quick question possible engine trouble

hey folks. admitted noob and first time honda accord owner here. just spent my savings on a 2003 honda accord coupe v6(automatic) last week. been a good car so far. tonight though when i was showing my friend the new stereo i got installed i noticed the car was acting eratically when i hit 4000 rpm's. it would kind of falter and lose power and not go beyond 4000 rpm. it was doing this in park. i admit im not a mechanic so if this is normal go easy on me haha. i had the car checked by a mechanic prior to buying and it passed. just still concerned i spent my $ on a lemon. any help or insight would be appreciated!

Need alil more info partner, you said it stalled?did the car die out?you said it acted eratically?are you saying the idle revs up then down?when this started did any check lites come on?did this problem just happen without any warning signs?you said it would lose power?did it feel like it was running out of gas?or did it not speed up when you pressed on the gas?when you pressed the gas did the RPM's rise but the car not speed up?

re reading my post i used some wrong terms. like i said im a noob at this. basically the engine would only hit 4000 rpm when my friend was hitting the gas in park. now that iv thought about it im thinking it was a rev limiter(not sure what the exact terminology was for this. i remember my old 94 integra gsr had this.
