Rattle underneath the car
I apologize in advance my car tech knowledge is limited to my breaks and rotors. Today I was driving on a very bumpy stretch of road and afterwards I started to hear a rattle. When I got home I left the car running and looked underneath it I spotted the culprit. I took some pictures. Anyone have any idea what part this is, can it be removed/should it be there, and how to fix that. Thanks in advance for any advice or tips. In the one photo attached it's the area on the right.

That's the heat shield for your exhaust. One or more of the retention bolts must have come loose and fallen out. It's not a difficult fix. You'll need to lift the car and get under there and find out which fasteners are missing and replace them.

Sorta looks like the #23 heat shield which is bolted to the underside of the floor pan. You might find the holes have corroded large enough to just fall off, or just look & see what allowed it to fall off. Either get creative or else buy a bunch of brand-new parts.
That heat shield should not just be removed. The exhaust pipe gets too hot for the carpets & sound-deadening material.
