Re: 98 Accord Temperature Controls
Hi Folks, this is my first post here. I have a 98 Accord LX V6 that I bought from new, and 165,000 miles later is running like a champ. After some reading in my service manuals, I have a question for the savvy accord enthusiasts that seem ever present around here. I tried searching but came up empty for my question.
I would like to know if anyone has ever been able to successfully swap out the climate controls from an LX to an EX? I would to gain the feature of automatic temperature control for the inside cabin. It appears I also need to install the interior temperature sensor (not sure about outside) but I'm not sure if the wiring loom on my LX can accommodate this part along with the correct connectors for the EX console?
Any information you guys can offer, I would really appreciate it.

im not sure, but i think the Lx and the Ex are made equal. therefore, anything u may wanna swap from an EX may be placed on a LX... u just need the whole thing.

You'll need at bare minimum the head unit, controlls and sensors, possibly the wiring as well... the easiest way to do this would be get a wiring diagram from both lx and ex, compare them, then find an ex at a junk yard and remove all the parts that you need.
