A lot of us must have blown engines then becasue I'm sure quite a few of us have forgot to put the oil filler cap back on and then drove away. It makes a big mess because the oil is doing what it is supposed to. I just had the same type of experience with these clowns that came to look at my 93 civic; they tried to convince me that there were major repairs needed. Apparently this happens quite a bit.
