Default Rear Brake lights keep going out.

Actucally I have two problems. The lights seem to get water in lenses and the brake lights keep going out on the pasenger side. If I jiggle the wiring it works for a while. What do you do to fix something like this? I never had a car do this ever. Why is it happening. I have replaced bulbs etc.

The year and model would help.

I think Bob has a 4th gen???? Been a while since I remember seeing him.

Anyway, most of the time this is due to the "tail light gasket" leaking. Suggest replacing or trying to "re-seal" as soon as you can. Water and the brake sensor will drive you crazy.........

Way back in my 'used car dept.' days I used a 1/16 drill bit and put a couple drain holes in the bottoms of the lenses. Just don't push hard on the drill bit !!

Having to wiggle wires to get the lights working could mean corrosion in the connectors. It might be worth the time to get the harness parts to the bulb connections from a salvage yard and solder/shrink tube the salvage wires into the harness

well I think I fixed this. There is a little board with 3 or 4 coils on it. It looks like the one of the connections to the board had a bad solder joint. I reheated it and added some fresh solder and it started working again. Only thing is cause? I think the lens leaks water and is shorted. It gets foggy inside. Is this normal for Accords with some age? Do the tail lights take in water?

Yes, 3rd and 4th gens had a real issue with this. Hondadude gave a suggestion.

You can also pull the lens and either install a new gasket or use some silicone to reseal it....
