Question dimmer lights and tail light go out & keep blowing a 15 amp fuse.

im having trouble with my dimmer lights they have completly gone out as well as my tail lights, i replace the (15 amp) fuse and they seem to work for about 30 mins then the fuse blows, while the dimmer lights work i have to mess with the switch to get them to stay on of course untill the fuse blows. Anybody know were to start or have suggestions how to fix this.

You probably have a short in a wire or electrical connector. A short is an accidental connection of a wire to ground or to another wire.

What year and model car is this?

It could be at the combination light switch, the dimmer switch, the wiring, etc. Check the wire insulation, electrical connectors, and switches.

Was there anything recently done to the car, like adding an aftermarket stereo, etc.?

Btw: Welcome to the forum.

I also had a related poblem except it was with the side marker lights and my tail lights, atually all the interior and exterior lights excluding headlights... It was an electrical short on my driver side parking light it had rubbed against the fender long enough to actually puncture the rubber sheathing on the wires and short out on the fender itself.. so chances are its a short, and u need to find it! Good luck!
