Recommendations for a 2002 Accord SE VTEC Oil Leak

I am looking at a 2002 Accord SE VTEC, fully loaded, 114,000 miles at a local dealer -- reputable, but no warranty. The price is $6500. Body and interior are perfect -- very little wear, mostly on the driver seat. However ... yes ... here it is ... an oil leak from under the engine, appears to be in the area of the autotrans bell housing or to the passenger side of the center of the engine. The cross member under the engine is wet. After a drive on the interstate, I did not notice any smoke from the exhaust, but some oil dripped from the cross member onto the exhaust pipe, where it bends under the cross member. Good maintenance records, regular oil changes, timing belt changed. I read as much as I could on VTEC oil leaks and I am afraid this is a main seal. If so, too expensive. Anyone have any recommendations before I spend a couple of hundred for a pre-buy inspection? Thanks.
$200 for a 'pre-buy' inspection?? Thats unreal....find another shop.
Common oil leaks on the backside of the block are the oil pressure sending unit, and higher up the Vtec solenoid. Also the O ring at the distributor can leak and oil seeps down around the trans.
Worst case is the rear main seal HOUSING #7 in the pic below. The housing does not have a gasket, but has a sealer under it. Of course it would be a good time to replace the rear main seal as well.
