Default Reduced Fuel Range on Navigation trip computer

Hi,

I've had the car now for three years and love it. When new, after a fill up the trip range would state 693 Km's (to empty). Now after fill ups, it ranges anywhere from 505 to 615. Has anyone ever seen this problem before?

I would suspect (don't know) that computer uses last avg. fuel consumption to calculate available distance for the new tank. It has to use somthing, so why not latest consumption rate?

So either your peformance has gone down due to engine problems or your driving profile (heavy foot or lots of hills) has increased consumption.

good luck

I have thought the same thing, and the only thing that has changed in the last 18 months was new tires. Instantly after getting them instantaneous fuel mileage dropped a full L/100km. However after just coming off of a family vacation where I consistently got 7.5 L/100km and 700 km's to a tank, the very first fill up this week had the range at 505km's.

I don't know, the cars works fine other than that, except that I now have a check fuel cap warning, that I'm waiting for it to reset itself. Maybe new plugs or air filter, there are 87000 km's on the car which is not a lot.

Parts stores in the US will read engine codes. I'm not sure if they do that in Nova Scotia.

Check the o-ring on the gas cap for damage.
