Default remote starter issue

I have a remote starter unit installed on my manual transmission 97 accord. My roomate threw out the remote while ago and i never thought about it. I just moved to a much colder area and am now thinking about getting a new remote for the unit. Here are the issues:

1) Theres a red LED on the dash that keeps flashing when the car is idle and has CLIFFORD written around it and also something beeps 3 times when the ignition is off. I'm guessing they are related.

2) After looking under the dash the unit is an AUTOSTART AS-1260.

I dont understand how the light flashing has clifford round it and the starter unit is an autostart. Any ideas? Besides that I contacted the autostart toll-free number to order a replacement remote but it put me to some voice message system and no one called back. Will it just be cheaper and easier to buy a new unit or has anyone got any suggestions? Also if the advice is to replace the unit will it just be a matter of relacing the main unit itself (the brain) or will i have to invest in labour fo re-wiring the new unit? Thanks.
