Default Replace 88 Accord's lower dash

Bought the 88 Accord new in 88, sold 6 years ago with 368,000 miles to one of my workers. Just found it and bought it back with 412,136 miles. Someone had broken in to it and riped out the radio. Need some help on taking out the lower dash that goes around the radio, steering wheel and glove box.. I found one so I can put a radio back in.

In the common DIY thread on top of the gen tech help forum, there is a link to online shop manuals. The honda-tech link has an 86-89 shop manual that will show you how to replace the factory radio.

Yea, I thought there were two little screws on the back side of the radio - can get to them from behind the console and out comes the radio - not like the 5th gens

So it sounds like there is more damage than just the radio?

Ouch - just wanted to be sure.

I've got an "example" or two in the driveway if you get stuck on anything I can go look at mine.

Thanks for the link to the manuals. I new to the site and not sure where to look for things yet. Do you know if the lower section can be removed of is the dash one piece? The manual removes the whole thing dont realy want to do that.

Got pic's - I'm a visual person, which puts me two or three steps behind on forums

Again I've got an example or two in the driveway and have done my share of work on them - just trying to understand what you are needing to repair-replace.

I know the sections around the steer wheel come apart and the trim under that. The trim under the glove box and the glove box come out.

The "part under" the radio should come out as well - this is where I'm really wanting the pic to help you. If it is part of the console or the "lower right" part of the dash - runs from just right of the steer wheel to the far right side of the dash.

I have added the picture as an attachment. I hope it works.

Yea, that was the piece I was thinking about. It's one piece from just "right" of the steer wheel to the pass side.
