Replacing alternator on 99 accord.

Default Replacing alternator on 99 accord.

Hi ALL,
New to forum. Glad to be here. I need to replace the alternator on my 99 v6 accord.
can someone tell me if this is easy? and a basic how to? it would be greatly appreciated.
thank you in advance.

Get your radio code..remove the battery negative cable..Remove the tension from the drive belt.
Unplug and disconnect the wires to the Alt.
Unplug the radiator fan, then unbolt the shroud/fan assembly, it should pull straight up and out.
Then get off the 10mm bolt that holds the wireharness bracket, then there are 2 bolts that hold the Alt. on.

The stickiest part of replacing the alternator is getting the belt off. Using a serpentine belt tool will make this part a piece of cake, the more leverage on the auto tensioner the easier it is to get the belt off, don't pull on the tool but push the tool towards the back of the car(or counter-clockwise). Make sure you torque the alternator bolts when putting on the new alternator. The longer of the two should be torqued to 33 lbf-ft and the shorter one at 16 lbf-ft. For someone experienced this should take 30 minutes max.
