Default Replacing brakes problem

Hi to all,
I am new to this forum, and have experience with honda's. This one has me stumped, can someone tell me were I can find specs on disc brake PADS?
I am installing new rotor and new pads, but they do not fit in the opening of the caliper, and yes I pushed the piston all the way in. My rotor thickness is 850 and the meat on the pads is 12mm thick. I think I read somewhere that they should be 10mm thick. By the way I have an old 2001 civic.
Thanks,

What brand and part numbers did you get for your civic?
