Road Noise
I just bought a little noise meter, now bearing in mind it was only £14 so the calibration may not be that accurate, at 90mph on a concrete motor way the max reading was 107dbc. For my partners Toyota Auris 2.2 TD SR180 at the same speed on the same road the reading was 95dbc. the mike was held at head height between the two front seats. That's 12dbc higher and beacause the dbcs are logarithmic that's a hell of a difference!
Honda Accord is a piece of crap, I am just back from a two hour drive with my 2012 Accord SE, the car was so ****ing noisy in the highway I couldn't carry on a conversation with other passengers. I hate this ****ing car and I hope something happens to it very soon because I cannot drive it anymore.
I drove my nieces 2010 V6 Accord Coupe the other day, and it was also pretty loud. I don't know if it's the Michelin tires Honda used (Pilots), the design of the fender-wells, the lack of soundproofing, or a combination of all three. My 03 V6 Sedan is not nearly as loud as her car, but it is louder with the crappy Bridgestone tires I have now. I'm going to try some Michelin Primacy MXV4 tires next because many Accord owners say they do wonders for the noise.
