Rough idle after replacing distributor
That's always been a big problem around here. Give advice & never find out if it worked or not.
I remember a few who responded saying it worked. Even if it doesn't work, all it costs is a bit of your garage-time.
I've done that on my own cars (95 Integra & 98 Accord are closest in age) as general maintenance, but I didn't have the big idle-problem to begin with.

Yeah I have noticed that problem around here. That is why I am trying to be as detailed as possible in my story telling. Speaking of which, on my way home from work today, while sitting idle at a red light, I decided to try something based on one of the other threads I had read. I turned my steering wheel right and left while sitting there in neutral. Sure enough, the idle got rough like it was going to die.
Here is a link to a pdf with the procedure, it starts on page 11-73:

I know some digital timing lights can read rpm. Maybe a parts store one of those timing lights as a loaner tool. You would have to call and ask.

I've just used the dashboard tach. Not terribly accurate, but you DO have to realize the last little mark is 500 rpm. It looks like there's little or no space between zero & 500, then the normal amount of space between 500 & 1000.
Hey one of you moderator types might want to change the title of this thread to add "SOLVED" to the end of it.
Thank you PA and Jim for your excellent help. Setting the base idle did the trick! I set it a little on the higher end of the tolerance (~600 rpm) and then I had the ECU re-learn the idle. Early indications show that my issue is resolved. No longer feels like it wants to stall when coming to a stop.
HAF ROCKS!!! Tell your friends!
