Default rough shifting in accord 98

hi, could it be clogged Injector nozzle causing the erratic hard shift, my mechanics said the auto transmission is perfectly ok and it needs no replacements. Please kindly respond. Hoping to hear from you guys. Thanks

Is Check Engine light on and have you checked for trans codes? Some trans codes don't set D4 light flashing so check for codes.

Has ATF been changed recently w/ new Honda ATF. Aftermarket ATF can affect shift quality.

good luck

the check engine light is flashing now. One mechanic shop scanned and gave the following reading: 7002 A/T SYSTEM MALFUNCTION. Another mechanic shop said there is no problem with the transmission. The transmission fluids have been changed 4 days ago. I have been spending so much on it. What is the exact cause of the hard shift? Is it clogged Injector nozzle or transmission failures. Presently the hard shift is beginning to reduce because the mechanic has been working on it today. Thanks hope to hear from you soon

You must have mis-heard the code. There is no P7002 code. There is a P0702 code for general electrical fault. It means there is a transmission control unit code stored. You can also check these codes yourself by shorting the service check connector under the dash and reading flash codes of CEL or D4 (trans control).

Is D4 light flashing also?

good luck
