Default Rust advice please?

Hello! I just noticed some tiny rust spots (about 5 of them) on the edge of the hood on my 14 accord. A shop quoted me $900 to fix. Does this seem about right to you? Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

You should be covered under Honda warranty. Check you manual to see how long the paint protection is

Did you buy the car new? When I see spots like that I think, "body shop paint job". So, if you bought the car second hand, you may be pretty disappointed by what the dealer has to tell you, however, if you bought it new and those spots are showing up, I'd go back to the dealer to ask for all documentation on repairs done to the car before delivery.

That's not really a bad price to pay. Are they going to shoot the whole hood? Just asking, as that's how I'd do it. And from what I've learned about Hondas, I'd shoot it PPG brand paint for it to match.

Just another viewpoint... I might try touching it up myself, but I don't expect that to look perfect. But I'd pay attention to cleaning it up & doing a good job with rust-inhibiter so it doesn't come back.

I guess if you're going to get it done, that translates into making sure the shop does a good job with the rust protection. I wouldn't want to keep doing it again & again.

The big problem is those look like stone or salt chips in the paint. Those are harder to fix correctly.
