Default is it safe to jump my vtec solenoid to the battery?

95 accord ex 4cyl F-series

I had no vtec, and code 22. I bypassed the oil pressure switch by connecting wires A4 to D6 and the code cleared right up! Still no vtec and now code 21, I jumped the solenoid to the battery and it clicks so good solenoid. Plunger works, and screen not clogged. I checked if any voltage is coming from the ecu to solenoid and no volts. So I'm guessing a short or bad ecu maybe?? I also have my solenoid connected directly to the battery and my vtec is running like a champ, but is it safe? Will my battery drain? Any advice is appreciated.

Get the car back to the stock setup, then start doing the electrical troubleshooting.

Heads up, works like a charm. I have the solenoid straight to the battery on a switch in my car
