Default Sat Nav Screen going wobbly

My wife has a UK 2002 Honda Accord 5-door (old style). It is a 2.0i SE Executive with all the toys e.g. climate, leather, BOSE & Sat Nav. Howeverafter 6 years excellent service the screen on the Sat Nav has a bunch of lines on the right hand side of the screen that are starting to block the map.

Is the screen going to die soon, soonish or at some point in the future.
Can the screen be replaced without replacing the whole unit?
Will a dealer rob me if I ask him to do it? (Oh wait the last answer is yes)

Help appreciated. I know how good forums can be as I have a Phaeton & we seem to know how to solve more problems for less money than VW!

Thanks for any help, pointers or laughing at the fact I bought a VW Phaeton.

Default RE: Sat Nav Screen going wobbly

Lines on the screen would generally tell you that the LCD is damaged or dying.

A V-Dub Phaeton? A family I know that owns a mansion around my area own one. They're great if you can afford to fix it and don't care about reliability!
