Default Shifting Manually in an Automatic Car

is this bad for my car?
i go from gear 1 to 5000rpms then to gear 2, then to 5000 rpms then D3 and so on... Sometimes i downshift to like 3500rpms between 3rd and 2nd gear. is this alright for my car? its a V6, old tranny, 163000 miles. its an auto hehe

how is this for an answer:

I think its a great idea. By using an extremely compicated and expensive device in a way in which it was not designed to be used on a daily basis is sure to increase the lifespan and durability of the unit.
