Question Should I flush my transmission if I'm having problems with it?

Ive got a moderately strong jerking action coming from what I suspect to be my transmission. It happens when I'm shifting from 3rd to 4th and around 35-40 MPH only. If I let off the accelerator or gun it, it'll go away. At 92,000 miles, so I'm due for an automatic transmission flush, but I've been told that I you have problems with your transmission, don't flush it because it will make it worse. Anyone have any insight for me? Because I'm stumped.

Never use a machine to flush your tranny. They have the potential to blow seals. There is a easy DIY guide on how to change all the fluid by doing 3 drain and refills. I would try 1 drain and refill now and 100 miles later do another. Do it 3 times and you pretty much changed all the fluid. And it safer on the tranny. What color is your tranny fluid? And does it smell burnt?

I haven't even looked at the fluid yet. I'm handy with cars, but I don't know enough about them to be brave enough to crack it open until I'm sure. Does the issue I describe sound like the transmission is the culprit? My RPMs do not change when it vibrates.

When bought AT car, I had seller (a mechanic shop) do 2 drain and fills 5 miles apart. My suspicion is the fluid gets mixed almost immediately because it's pumped around.

Quickly means you can do them when you have the equipment set up, or if you're having it done for you - can likely negotiate a better price. Luck

Just look and smell the fluid on the dip stick you don't need to do anything intrusive just to check it.
