Default smoke coming from steering column

91 honda, runs great (been very well taken care of)
Yesterday, the turn signal stayed on, and when I got home, smoke was coming from the steering clumn!
Simple fix? Expensive fix?
Thanks

It depends on what was burning. You should take off the plastic covers to inspect the wiring.

The plastic covers that hide the wiring between the steering wheel and the dash board. The covers I am talking about has a hole for the ignition switch. Is that where you saw the smoke?
