Smile Speed-O Off

I picked up a 2000 LX V6 and the speed-O is running fast by nearly 10 MPH. I looked through the maintenance paperwork that came with the car and found that the trans was changed at about 100K miles with a "used" one. Anyway, are there multiple Speed Sensors for these trans, and if it's not a speed sensor what could it be? Any and all opinions are welcome. Thanks, -Drew from San Jose CA.

What size tires are on it? I think they should be either 195-65-15's or 205-60-15's. If they're smaller than those 2 sizes I listed, then that's part of the problem.
Does the cruise control work and hold? Just asking as you may have a VSS sensor going bad.

The tires on the car are 205-65-15s and yes the cruise control works well. I'm thinking it's the wrong VSS and that means the trans came from a truck or van. Not Good!

Well, since you're running taller tires, the VSS is definitely out of calibration. Most Hondas I've found read about 2 to 3 mph fast.
