Default Speed/Tach after battery dead

2000 Honda Accord EX 3.0 L

Speedometer and tach were functioning just fine. Light left on and battery drained completely. Recharged battery but when I turn the key on or start the car those two gauges are now having a problem. The problem is this.

The pin where the needles normally rest on when there is no signal to them is now above the needle. They are pegged to the bottom of the pin. Does anyone know of a way to get the needle to the correct side of the pin with out taking the gauge apart and probably screwing them up?

You may very well have to take the cluster out and then gently get the needle back to the correct side of the pin. Here is a link with some instructions on opening the cluster.

I would just take the cluster out from the dash, then remove the front plastic cover, and gently lift just the tip of the needle back over the pin where it rest; without removing the the needle.
