Ok to start off i know this is an Accord forum, but my gf has a 1992 honda civic and her speedo doesnt work at all. I Was just wondering if maybe someone on here knows what the common reasons they stop working are in the civic? I have not looked in to the car at all really just trying to have some info before I start. im guessing the speedo is gear driven right?
Any help would be great!

If the civic is close to the accord. I'd check for codes (not sure where the service connector is....under the glove box?). This "sounds" like an issue with the VSS.

 

The Civic also has a service check connector under the passenger side dash. The connector may be gray color on earlier Civics and blue color on later ones. Check for trouble codes first as Poorman212 suggested. There is info. on retrieving OBD-I trouble codes in the DIY sticky at the top of this forum section.
