Speedo stopped working, got this code

Damn that sucks thats an expensive part. :S im gonna try to check to see if the voltage pulses when I turn that little shaft by hand just to verify.

Yea Oreillys here has it at like 110$. Im gonna call around and see if I can find one at my u-pull-it. If not ill just order one on ebay. But I need it pretty soon as I dont want a speeding ticket

For $8 new, how could you beat that, even if it is a cheap wherever made part? That seller seems to have sold many of them.

I got it for 10$ used at U-pull-it. Fixed my problem. I was also able to pocket some bolts I needed for my car while I was there :P Everything works great, cleared codes, checked and tested everything, works perfect now.

Except my SRS light is still on and that came on the same time the VSS went out. I read in the manual it says it should be "maintenance free" (the SRS). But I dont know what could be causing it to come on. Any ideas?

Good job dude.

About the SRS light, have you looked in the manual to find out what it says?

You are training to be a tech. Start some reading and testing and let us know what you find.

Well yea I looked in the manual. That was the first thing I did. All it told me was "if it flashes, it needs to be serviced". Doesnt say anything more. Im gonna look at alldata and see what that says

There is a procedure to reset the SRS light but I do not know what it is.

I will PM someone who most likely knows.
