the speedometer on my 94 accord works when it wants to.. when it doesnt want to work it either doesnt move at all or it will just bounce around... what could be wrong?

 

If your cruise control still works when the speedometer stops working, then the speedometer is the problem.

If the cruis doesn't work, then the VSS is bad. Your check engine light and D4 light should both be on if the VSS is bad.

Speedometer can be removed and sent off to be fixed. Just search the web for places that can fix them. Getting the speedometer fixed will avoid having the hassle to get the new speedo rolled, or the paper work to declare your car's mileage.
