Squeak after recent transmission rebuild
Good morning forum members,
Over the summer 2013 I had the AUTO trans rebuilt in my 2001 Accord EX 4cyl.
Once the weather got cold I noticed that every time i go over a speedbump I get this noise coming from the front driver side of the car. Sounds like rubber or metal squeak not really sure. Once the weather gets warms the sound goes away. With the car parked I can push really hard on the driver side corner and make the squeak happen about every 2-3 times.
Now I have replaced practically all suspension parts on the front.
Control arms
sway bar end links
sway bar mounts
struts
ball joints
pretty much anything that has a rubber bushing it has been replaced.
A few of my friends have mentioned something about the frame mounts due the the trans job.
I am not really sure so that is why I have turned to all of you for advice.
Thank you all in advance!
Matthew

If you can make the noise by bouncing the car, then get a helper. One of you bounce the car while the other gets down low (probably not UNDERNEATH) so you can pinpoint the location.
One thing to check...
From each lower control arm, there's a radius-rod that goes forward & attaches to the framework somewhere around the bottom of the radiator. That has a set of rubber bushings and it's easy to overlook because it's so far forward.
Also...
New bushings for the sway bar? Maybe they simply need some grease?

Thanks Jim would the radius rods need to be removed when they drop the trans?
The noise never happened until the winter after the trans was rebuilt.
I greased the hell out of the bushings when i put it back together.
thanks again,
Matthew

If they dropped the trans out the bottom, I guess they would lower the subframe which means those rods would come out with the suspension & lower control arms. I'm not sure if the shop could lower the trans without removing the subframe.

The strut arm does have to be pulled on the trans side, and the whole front subframe can be pulled out. That is the way I did it.
First time I pulled the engine and trans out the top, next time I tried it from the bottom, and it was a bit easier.
