Default Srs light

So I have an airbag light on in my 1995 wagon. Code says 5-1 (internal fault) checking places like Honda parts now or any of the other dealer based sites say the computer in this case is specific to my model year. Can I substitute another to year without issue. Also the airbag light seems to alternately flicker with the turnsignal indicator when it flashes. My abs light did as well when it had a problem. Would any of this be related? I bad ground causing air bag light or faulty voltage stabilizer?

When strange electrical issues happen like you describe, you probably have a ground issue with the instrument cluster. It could be a problem with the ground connection or possibly corrosion on the circuit board.

The SRS code is probably correct with a 5-1. Your OEM part number lists all the 1994 accords as exact matches. Probably best to find a used 94 SRS control unit. You could likely use one from another year, but I have no idea what is different on the module.

Is the 94 compatible with my 1995 ex wagon? I was under the impression it wasn't. But I can always try the 1994 and see where that gets me. In the mean time I will track down the dash grounds
