Default Starter trouble for 95 Accord AT

I had very badly corroded battery cables that I cleaned with baking soda and then removed them and brushed the terminals and battery posts very clean. I put everything back together and now the starter will not turn over. I tried the caveman approach and shorted accross the selenoid and still nothing but clicking. I even took the battery charger and hooked it directlectly to the main terminal of the starter and still clicking. Even tried the cave man approach while doing that. So I'm not sure how it can be the selnoid. Please help

Disconnect the battery. Clean the cable that runs from the +terminal of the battery to the starter. Reattach cable then connect the battery. See if it starts using the key.

To bypass using the key in the car, turn the key to the II position. Use a jumper cable from the + battery terminal to the smaller post on the starter and see if it works.
