Default Starting problem

New to this forum...have over 400 posts on a non-honda site. First and foremost, thank you in advance for any help you can give me. Sunday(4th) started our 87 accord dx up, went 6 miles to Walmart and shut her off. Came back out 1 1/2 hours later, car wouldn't start. Got a ride home and called the tow truck which showed up 2 hours later and tried to start the car before loading it up, and it started. It ran maybe 3 min. at high idle then shut right off. Got the car back home and changed the plugs, wires, cap, rotor button, and coil. Started the car...ran 2 min, then shut off and wouldn't start back up. Now I don't have any spark coming from the coil, which means no spark from my plugs. I don't have much experience with Honda's so I'm not going to pretend to. Tell me what y'all think may be the problem. Is thisa common problem? Possible bad ignitor? Do I have to take the dizzy off in order to change the ignitor? Thanks in advance for your help

Assuming the new components are working (sometimes you get bad parts that are "new"), then you need to inspect upstream from the coil.

I would check to see if you have battery voltage to the ignitor with the ignition switch at On position. If no voltage, then inspect ignition switch. If you have voltage, then the ignitor might be the problem.

This link addresses a problem similiar to yours: https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/m_46892/tm.htm

I would also check your fuses, make sure that you have spark coming from the coil.... are you using NGK sparkplugs? if not I'd change them, bosch plugs and honda's (if you're using bosch) don't get along well and are known for causing an ignitor to flake out due to improper resitance....
