Hey guys, my ocd finally took over and made me post this . I bought this car for $800 and I have invested quite a few dollars into it, but there is one problem that I cannot figure out. The steering wheel and the airbag module are not at the same height so the steering wheel sticks out where it meets the airbag module . I'll attach some pictures for clarification and any help would be appreciated . Also, I am very skeptical about working around my airbag because I would be very unhappy if it deployed so if thats what I have to do, helpful pointers and tips would be a lifesaver.

Okay, thanks for your input. The steering wheel outside is loose from its core on the top so it twists if pressure is applied and I was considering changing it out for a racing wheel if I end up doing an h22 swap. Any suggestions?

 

Check the laws where you live......before gotting into changing the wheel. Also, unless you "trick" the SRS unit to think there is an air bag in the wheel the light will be on. Again be sure to check the local laws.
