Good day to you all in the forum. I just replace my old automatic transmission in my Accord 1998. I notice after driving for hours on getting to speed bumps and I want to accelerate the tachometer revs to more than 3000 to 4000 and with some banging. The fluid level is ok and the colour is still normal. I don't know what is actually happening. Travelling on short distance with the car this doesn't happen. Its shift smoothly and the tachometer doesn't go beyond 3000. Is it the spark plugs, throttle adjustment, or the speed sensor. Or something get stiff after driving for long. The D4 is not flashing
please kindly assist on probable cause.

Thanks for replying, when the tachometer goes to 3000 to 4000, the engine actually seems to stall and pick up again and the car jerks while the tachometer returns to between 2000 to 2500rpm. while returning to these RPM the car then remain stable at 100km/per on acceleration. These reving from 3000 to 4000rpm occurs after crossing a speed bump after travelling for long distance. These morning now I didn't experience any such irregular reving my workplace is not too far from my home.
what should I checked to resolve these issues. On high speed there is no irregular shifting of transmission and no banging.
No overheating. Is long I have changed the spark plugs, but there are no signs that the plugs are bad or could that be the cause. Transmission fluid is clean no dirts and is level off, normal guage.

I had a 2004 civic do that as well, I'd be humming along and all of a sudden the RPM gauge and engine would rev up fluctuating. I had a bad front passenger wheel bearing. I could hear it whining when moving. Replaced the bearing and never had a problem again for over 10 years that I owned the car. Bad bearing must have been affecting the sensor that feeds back speed to the transmission control unit causing it to hunt, possibly.

 

We were able to scan the car with OBD scan. It came up with the code P0141. This was the only code that was detected. Could PO141 be responsible for revving of the tachometer after driving for prolong distance on getting to a stop and go speed bumps.
Some auto specialist are suggesting that it could be as a result of dirty transmission filter. It will just revs high upto 4000 RPM before shifting after travelling long journey mostly when getting to speed bumps. I plan changing the transmission fluids next week and see what happens
