Tail Lights Stay ON 94 Accord
First of all, I have a 94 Honda Accord LX with 170,000 and haven't really had too many problems with it. Butlast night, I noticed my taillights are staying on even after the car is turned off. Is there anything I can do before taking it in to a shop? By the way, I disconnected the battery. All help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

RE: Tail Lights Stay ON 94 Accord
Are the low tail lights staying on or the high (come on when you brake) ones? If your high ones stay on I would suggest looking at the switch behind your brake pedal. When you press your pedal it hits the switch and closes the circuit, lighting up the second filament in the bulbs, hence the extra brightness. It may need adjustment so it isn't getting switched accidentally when your not braking.

RE: Tail Lights Stay ON 94 Accord
I dont know about a 94 Accord but on my 92 the switch is behind and above the brake peddle so when you release the brake it pushes on the switch to shut off the lights. It happend to me last week and the culprit was a small nylon or plastic button that is attached to the peddle to make contact with the switch. This piece was broken and the resulting hole where it plugs into left nothing to push the switch off. Look around the carpet and floormat you might find it broken into 3 or 4 pieces. I replaced the button with a small bolt locked into the hole where the head would make contact with the switch. Again the 94 is the next generation Accord so yours might be different.
