Post TCS in Honda Accord questions

In Snow and ice,
the TCS system works against getting ANY traction out of a parking space or on a slick road or incline.

acceleration seems to be unconnected to tirespin, limited to 1000 rpms.
I "turned it off from the control panel" according to manual, but this did not seem to make a difference in performance.

Can't get out of snowy pkg spaces, even after shoveling out around the wheels.

Whats up with this!?

I would guess you need dedicated SNOW TIRES, or at least something better than what you have.

Agreed; TCS in conjunction with good tires makes all the difference; turn the TCS off and good tires still make a huge difference. Then again, when you're on glare ice, nothing short of studded winter tires will do much of anything.

Yes, you are so right. AFter a 12 inch snowfall, and the treads being less than 5/32" it soon became clear that new tires were needed.

Same here - I'm also a fan of changing over to winter tires.
