I have a 1993 Accord EX (US model) having a code 8 when engine cold.

The distributor has an external ign coil and built-in ignitor.

Testing shows the TDC sensor ohm reading is below specified. The ohm reading increases with engine temp and the CEL will go out.

The engine still runs fine but is getting just a little harder to start when cold.

Of course can replace the distributor but wonder if anyone knows a source for a replacement TDC sensor. To date have not found a source.

Rockauto lists dists for $150-213 which is affordable but would rather look into replacing parts first.

The other question is there only one model of dist for this year?

Rockauto lists several choices of course including one with a PCV valve. Does anyone know what this is about?

I suspect the only source for replacement TDC sensor would be a used part. Check car-part.com for a salvage yard near your zip.

No idea about the RockAuto ad, probably a typo.
