Default Throttle acceleration cable?

So I thought I fixed the problem with my car that revs high in idle which gone away.

But when i noticed my gas pedal feeling stiff last night it broke off the freeway..

How would the acceleration break like that? Can I just replace it with a new cable or replace the whole throttle?

How did you resolve your first idle problem?

What do you mean broke off the freeway?

I cleaned out the whole throttle and it was working normally.. Idle and stuff were normal also.

Then late yesterday I was accelerating on the freeway and the cable broke off from the gas pedal.

Did you ever use any grease on the throttle cable?

If you can easily open and close the throttle plate where the cable attaches to the throttle body, then I would replace the cable.

Did the cable just break, or did it get stuck and you broke it cable when accelerating? Also see if there are any signs of compression where the cable broke.

First check to see what's actually broken.

Ball broke off the end of the cable?
Cable-drum broke?
Cable simply became disconnected? From throttle body or from accel.pedal?
