97 SE Throttle/Tranny Cable
I've posted here before about my engine over-revving coming out of a turn and Hondadude told me about the adjustment for the throttle cable to the tranny. My tranny was replaced a year ago when my wife tried to take out a concrete median and cracked the original tranny case in half. Anyway, I've had this over-revving issue ever since, and the mechanics have told me that this is just a "Honda thing", even though the original one didn't act like this. Today I noticed that the new cable runs from the throttle body to the transmission lever with the entire length of the cable visible. Some of the pictures I've seen posted seem to show the cable running under the air intake duct.Mine was obviously not routed correctly, however,it looks like a smooth run from the throttle body to the tranny. Could thisbe causing some extra slack in the cable possibly? I need to find another 94 - 97 and see the correct cable path. The Haynes manual doesn't have any info other than adjusting this cable. Thanks for any help.

RE: 97 SE Throttle/Tranny Cable
I'm not sure about the routing of the cable. I read both of your posts, and you need to look at a shop manual. In the DIY section, click on the link in the ACC 5th gen.. and there is a shop manual split into sections in pdf form for a 94. The instructions should be almost identical to the 97 except for the location of a couple of sensors.p
