the higher the number the shorter the gear.(i know its kinda reverse because people say shorter gear ratios when the number is actually higher)

you wont be going faster than the trannies can handle, they are out of a prelude so the motor revs to 8,000 rpms and top out around 140mph

 

my cord governs at 115.
and redlines at 6 - 6.5

but with that tranny
i can take gears out to 8?
and get spped of 140?

& a lude tranny would bolt right up and be better?

 

The transmission does not dictate the redline of the engine. The engine does. Redline is set mainly based on valve speed and piston speed, but also takes into account the strength of the valve springs (to avoid float) and main bearing integrity (spin one and you need to rebuild the engine).
