Default Timing belt or timing chain

I have a 2002 Accord EX V6 and at 96000 I had the timing belt and water pump replaced. My question is this; I was told I didn't need to change the timing belt because in a Honda V6, the belt is actually a chain. Did I spend money unnecessarily or not. Can anyone either answer me or direct me to another site that can.

Thanks

Your car has a timing belt. I think all the V6 accords have a timing belt.

Beginning in 2003 the 4-cyl engine has a chain. AFAIK, the V-6 is still a belt today.
