Which engine; 4-cylinder or 6-cylinder?

Note: The I4 engine uses a timing chain with no requirement for replacement for the life of the vehicle, the V6 engine uses a belt and the replacement interval is probably similar to the one on my 2001, which is 7 years or 105,000 miles, which ever comes first.

There still is a drive belt that should be changed:

  • around 7 years or 105,000 miles; whichever come first
  • or if there is damage to the belt
  • or the auto-tensioner gauge shows the belt tension out of range.
