Have you checked alignment between crankshaft and camshaft is correct?

Is Check Engine Light (CEL) on? If yes, get the code/s and post them. Check whether CEL stays on w/o blinking when service check connector is shorted to look for codes.

Suggest resetting the ECU by pulling BackUp fuse in underhood fuse box for 20 secs.

good luck

Also, check that the ECU ground bolt on the thermostat housing is tight.

Did you short the service connector to get the engine codes?
