Default Timing, water pump

Water shooting out of radiator when engine spins, with cap off. Cap on leaks other places, builds up a lot of pressure. New timing kit and water pump.
Anyone with idea what will cause this, help please. 99 ex sedan

V-6 or 4-cyl?

If it's really spitting out of there hard, it might be a failed headgasket. Combustion gases under pressure blowing into the coolant passageways displacing the coolant.

It's normal to see some movement in the coolant right under the radiator cap, when the engine is running. But that's not spitting & shooting out.

Agree. Sometimes with the cap on you can check the reservoir for air being pumped in. If so then is almost always a head gasket.
