I've got a 4 cyl accord with an automatic transmission that won't engage with any of the other gears when I shift it out of park. all indicator lights are out except for the park light on the dash. can anybody help me out ?

 

Sounds like it may be the parking switch, but we need to know what year make and model of car. Welcom to HAF.

 

it's a 2001 Honda accord, theres no feel or indication of the gears trying to engage at all,tha car won't move, I,m wondering can it possibly be a shift cable

 

Start with the simple stuff first.

Check the fluid level in the transmission.

Check for codes.

Find where the shift cable attaches to the transmission and see if it moves when you shift gears inside the car.
