Default TPS for 1999 Accord EX 4cly

I have a 1999 Honda Accord EX 4cyl manual transmission and the throttle position sensor needs to be replaced. I know that the sensor is part of the Throttle Body. I was hoping to be able to just replace the sensor and I am having trouble locating just the sensor for my make and year. Does anyone know where I can buy a new one? Can I use one from another model year??

Honda doesn't sell them because they don't think people should be able to replace them themselves. There also are special bolts holding it on that you will need to cut a slot in then use a screw driver to take off.

Also you will need a volt meter to set it, as it has to be very precise.

A search of ebay should find you one to replace it with though, I think basically all 90s Hondas used the same TPS but don't quote me on that.

Dorman makes a TPS for your year Accord

Here is a link on how to remove the two shear bolts with a center punch and hammer (it is actually very easy and fast to do, probably less than a minute for each shear bolt).

Earlier Accords use a different TPS than the 1999 Accord, other aftermarket companies like Blox and Omni make it for those years.
