Default Trannie swap

Hey guys,i'm new to this forum and im from Suriname.
I own a 2000 accord and I have an transmission issue.I do not know a lot about engines en transmission but my ride has an F23 Vtec and the transmission is out.I heard about the accords trannie issue but i love my car and really like to keep it,so im thinkin about swapping the transmission with a more reliable one.....what do you guys think is the best trannie to go with, and will I have to do some mods to make it run smooth?

I'll assume you have an auto trans.

Are you thinking of a manual swap or going back with anoth auto?

PS_ Welcome to HAF.

There really is no alternative other than swapping to a manual transmission. If you want to stick with the auto you may want to check out the various Odyssey forums which seem to have the latest info on the best rebuilders.

Google "6th gen" accord "h22 swap"

It's been done. A lot of work.

It can’t really be done easily. Even if there were a transmission of better design that could be installed, the amount of work involved in putting a different transmission into your vehicle, the cost would be too much to make it worth it.
