Sorry to hear that man

Yeah, rebuilt transmissions aren't the answer. However, if you do that and add a transmission cooler you will be good 2 go for quite awhile.

Remember, 5 spd swap and rebuilt auto are the same price, one will fail again, the other is more fun and lower maintenance.

You could also look into a Level 10 upgraded rebuilt. They're right up Rt. 23 in Hamburg, I think ..... anyway, they seem like a good operation .... never dealt with them before. They have a website to look at.

Hmm... I think it had something to do with a 6th gen PCM and 5th gen TCU not wanting to work together... I can't remember

Hah that's a crazy transmission, but too expensive for me. I think I'm gonna end up getting a rebuilt auto and make sure the warranty it. You guys are confusing me with the manual swap.

Update...My dad knows a guy that's been working on trannys all his life. I am bring the car to him for him to look at. He thinks it's because since I got my ATF changed at lube express, they didnt use the honda additive that the tranny needs so he's gonna take out all the fluid and refill it with the honda fluid. I think that's whats gonna happen. I'll have more details later.

Honda autos don't like to be power-flushed.

See if he can disconnect the hoses to the ATF cooler. Dump the fluid coming out of the cooler hose, while he feeds fresh fluid into the return hose. That way the "flush" uses the tranny's own internal pumps. No external pumping machine.

And... use Honda-brand ATF - not an additive.
