tranny slip?
kk so i have a 98 accord 4dr ex auto trans
basically when the engine is cold " or so it seems" and im driving like a granny.. going from 1st to 2nd gear results in a " slip " and the engine will rev for about a second before changing.
it is a automatic tranny, and for the most part i drive it hard and have 0 problems. its only when driving slow you will notice and only when its cold.
fluid lvls are fine..not burnt... its been doing it since 115k- 133k+ so far. it does not slip in any other gear, nvr smells like burnt tranny fluid, nothing.
i do like to drive it hard, and my rev limiter is set higher so it doesnt shift unil 6-7k at times, and i can easily pull 1-40 in first gear and basically skip 2nd, right into 3rd
any suggestions? obviously its a tranny problem..no error codes...yes honda trans all suck and they will never admitt it...
*imho i plan to continue drivin it hard/racin it until i burn the tranny. just make sure i dont have a granny driving it and its Aok

Well I'm no auto-trans guru so I can't really help. But I know the first thing anyone wants to know is whether this is a V-6 or 4-cyl. Completely different transmissions, & they may as well be completely different cars.

Well here is a bit of info to start with....see pic.
The only Honda Auto Trans that "suck" are the 98-02 Accord's.......the 5th gen is over 380K on the original one. So they don't "all suck". I've had other Accords with well over 200K and auto and never an issue.
Now to your issue, whaen was the fluid last changed and what fluid was used at this change?
